SPV for Nama: Why were we not told about this before?

The story keeps changing. The government now plans a Special Purpose Vehicle  (SPV) for Nama, majority-owned by private interests! I suspect the Green party members might have voted differently if they had been told at their meeting in the RDS. One has to ask oneself if  the Green Party parliamentary party knew about the SPV or are they just patsies like the rest of us?

Who are the private investors?

What is the ‘special purpose’ of this special purpose vehicle?

Karl Whelan in the Irish Economy kicks off the debate here.
Constantin Gurdgiev in True Economics tries to unravel the deal by crunching the few enough numbers that are revealed here.

The public meeting in the RDS Concert Hall tonight is shaping up to be unmissable.
