This is a map of the value of Irish sea fishery landings in 2004. It shows the various different ports in Ireland and the value of their landings. The landings data is taken from the CSO and the locations are from Wikipedia’s GeoHack (in lat & lon). I used the excellent OpenHeatMap for the visualisation. Next in line will be tracking the change in landings value over a ten-year period – hopefully OpenHeatMap can handle time series vis. After that, I might branch out to see if stock biomass can be visualised as well.
